Since June 22, 2015, approximately 18 months ago, we have stayed in 125 different places. We stayed in that many airbnb’s, hotels, timeshares, in pet sitting locations and with friends and family.
Most of you are probably thinking that is absolutely insane. I’m sure you’re right! With the exception of one very odd Airbnb experience, both Ky and I can honestly say we have enjoyed all the places we have stayed. We find it difficult now to stay in one place for very long. Even while we were in Prescott, Arizona for 3 1/2 months, we ended up staying in six different locations.
At some point we might get tired of this nomadic lifestyle, but right now we are not ready to quit. We really like San Miguel de Allende (SMA) and we have enjoyed staying in one place for six days now (a relatively long time for us). However, today we went house hunting again. We have decided we want to stay here a bit longer, and so we were looking at options.
We both really enjoy the hunt and while looking around we have met some very interesting and extremely nice people. We saw four different places today, and while all of them would be potentially good locations, one or two stand out for us.
A couple of the big benefits of moving around so much is the option to see places from different perspectives and to learn about different parts of a town, and to of course, to have the chance to meet new people . Eventually when we do decide to stop moving so much, we will have a lot of good information about where we really want to be.
We met an extremely interesting couple today. The man is French/Greek, and the woman is Mexican. They are getting ready to travel in some similar ways to us. Ky was very happy to find someone who likes to travel by motorcycle as much as he does. This man has traveled solo for the last four years all around the world by motorcycle. He has been settled in Mexico for a while now, but he is very eager to go again, this time with a partner.
This type of travel is definitely not for most people, and I can’t say why it works so well for us. We are just strange that way 😉
Tonight, we are looking forward to enjoying dinner with wonderful friends from Canada.

Thank you for being golden to us!
